About Us
Originally opened in 2000, and redeveloped in 2014 to the tune of $41 million, ILT Stadium Southland is cutting edge. The venue is world class, multipurpose and capable of hosting a wide range of events including conferences, exhibitions and trade shows.
Much more than a venue, we are the heart of the Southern community and home to 12 sporting organisations and utilised by all sectors of the wider Southland community - recreational, sporting, cultural, corporate and entertainment of all genres.
A diverse range of internationally-acclaimed shows – from Hi 5 to Billy Connolly – have performed in our venue, which has also hosted numerous national and provincial events, including craft shows, boat shows, exhibitions and trade shows as well as high profile events such as a gala dinner with Nigella and the Joseph Parker - Road to the Title fight.
Our versatile facility incorporates the Velodrome, which opened in 2006 as New Zealand's first indoor velodrome.
Located in our very spacious foyer area are four squash courts which have adjustable walls to make an extra breakout area.
Our foyer is also home to our Clip n Climb which has 15 different climbing walls for everyone to enjoy!
Ideally located in the heart of the Surrey Park Sports Centre, ILT Stadium Southland is just 10 minutes from Invercargill Airport and five minutes from the city centre’s shops, restaurants and cafes.
